Full Moon in Virgo & Chile Earthquake

This month’s full Moon occurs in the fastidious earthy and purification sign of Virgo. Full Moons occur as the Moon moves into an exact opposition to the Sun. As you may remember from my previous Astro-grams, the Sun, as well as Venus, Jupiter and Uranus are all currently transiting the heavens in the watery sign of Pisces. Once Mercury joins the clestial group tomorrow morning we will have a total of five planets in the sign of Pisces. Both Virgo and Pisces are the zodiac signs that emphasize healing.

The Virgo full Moon is illuminating the areas of our life that are in need of purification and healing, specifically related to body, mind and spirit. When Virgo, and or Pisces is emphasized in our horoscopes, or in the heavens as they are under this full Moon, we will want to pay special attention to our bodies, thoughts and spirits. When any one of these areas is ignored, Virgo may initiate a crises in order to get our attention.

As we contemplate the areas of our life that are in need of cleansing and purification, it is important to remember that Gaia, our mother, is currently going through her own cleansing and purification. The aftermath of the current earth crises in Chile occured under this Pisces-Virgo axis. Chile is governed astrologiclaly by the planet Jupiter and the full Moon in Virgo is in opposition to Jupiter and the Sun, which are in exact conjunction in the oceanic constellation Pisces. Both Jupter an the Sun are the largest planets in our solar system. Jupiter is grandiose in its expression, and mainifests itself in extreme ways as we’ve seen with Chil’s earthquake and tsunami warnings.

Today, under this full Moon and earth crises in Chile, let’s each do our part to contemplate and intend purification and healing for ourselves and this beautiful planet, our mother.

Love & Abundance – Venus & Jupiter

Astrology, Venus and Jupiter are the two planets known as the great benefics. They like to bestow their blessings and gifts wherever they are positioned and transiting through our astrological charts.

The goddess Aphrodite and her planet Venus bestow love, physical beauty, the fine arts and wealth into the world. When she is prominently placed in our horoscopes, Cupid shoots his arrow and brings great love into our lives, and all things beautiful seem to flow our way.

The Greek god Zeus, father of philosophy, travel and abundance is tied to the planet Jupiter. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune who bestows his grace through optimistic thinking, spiritual pursuits, philosophy, travel and large quantities of life’s bounties.

Jupiter moved into Pisces on January 17th and Venus will move into Pisces on Feb 12th. Pisces is the watery emotional constellation that represents intuition, healing, the arts, addictions, and the ending of a karmic cycle. Venus will be in Pisces through March 7th, and Jupiter through June 5th. Venus is exalted in Pisces and Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces, which simply means, they both perform their best while in the mystical dreamy and boundless sign of Pisces.

Therefore, the next few weeks are an opportunistic time to dream big, play and have fun. That said, expand with caution during this time as Jupiter is fond of optimistic thinking, which can lead us into counting our chickens before they hatch.

If you are a Pisces, you will want to watch your sugar intake because Venus rules sweets and while she is in the sign of Pisces you may find it hard to curve unhealthy cravings. Jupiter expands everything it touches and while he is in the sign of Pisces you may find, much to your dismay, that your physical being is also expaning if you are enjoying a little too much good food and wine.

Astronomically, the two brightest planets in the sky will appear together in mid-February.  Mark your calendars for February 15th & 16th, as the sliver of the crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter are sure to prove a stunning trio.

The Cardinal Cross Climax

(2008 – 2012)

Many are asking me questions about the Astrological planetary Cardinal Cross Climax and 2012.  What is it and what does it mean? Cardinal Crosses occur when the outer planets move into Cardinal signs and have reached aspects that are traditionally representative of great movement and change on a global scale.  These planetary aspects shake things up politically and economically, thereby affecting each of us personally.  Pluto moved into the Cardinal sign of Capricorn in 2008 and Uranus moved into Aries during 2010 and lastly, Saturn moved into Libra in July of 2010 and will exit in October of 2012.

Whether you are familiar with the term “Cardinal Climax” or not, you are likely feeling it, and know intuitively that change is occurring on many deep levels. Our beautiful mother, Gaia is going through a massive metamorphosis during our lifetime, reflecting unprecedented earth changes and events.  For many, there is a sense of doom and loss of hope.  Simultaneously, for many others, there is anticipated enthusiasm for regeneration and renewal.  Researchers and present day spiritual leaders are persistently presenting us with ancient and modern day evidence that implies we are undergoing a “great human awakening”.

Before we delve more deeply into the meaning of the “Cardinal Cross” a couple of definitions may be helpful.  Let’s begin with an understanding of Cardinal signs. Ancient Astrologers considered the Cardinal signs to be the movable signs associated with the changing of the seasons when the Sun made its journey into Aries (Spring Equinox), Cancer (Summer Solstice), Libra (Fall Equinox) and Capricorn (Winter Solstice).  A planetary Cardinal Cross occurs in the heavens when the slower moving planets occupy the different Cardinal signs.

The Cardinal Cross aspect was activated on July 21, 2010 when Saturn moved into Libra and made a challenging aspect to Uranus and Jupiter in Aries and a difficult aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Things are heating up and it is going to get hotter!  This Cardinal conflict of cosmic energy is expected to be very intense for not just a few, but all of humanity.  This intensity does not mean doom or gloom, but is an indicator of the imperative changes needing to occur on a collective level.  That said, you may have surmised by now that this Cardinal celestial signature will have a more direct and personal affect on those with Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn planets in their horoscopes.  Cardinal people can be dynamic leaders with a strong sense of purpose or destiny and are not afraid to try new things.  There are many wonderful gifts that our Cardinal sisters and brothers offer us and this will be the time to take notice.

Taking notice is something you will not be able to avoid, as it is likely you will continue to witness battles of will during this period.  These global battles have manifested as cataclysmic earth events while Gaia strives to rebirth herself as prophesized in the Mayan and Hopi traditions.  The most recent oil spill catastrophe in the Gulf is a distressing example of human greed, dominating wills and lack of right relationship with the planet that sustains us.  We are also witnessing intense changes on an economic level in our country; in fact, the last time there was a similar Cardinal Cross aspect was during the U.S. Great Depression of 1929-33.  When any system collapses, it can provide an opportunity for those affected to bring justice and a sense of order and balance out of the chaos.

It is up to each of us during these unprecedented times to take responsibility to restore balance and harmony where we can.  The movie Avatar illustrates our culture’s integration of the Cardinal Cross energy. Considered by critics to be a huge risk, Avatar instead broke numerous records as the highest grossing film ever produced.  What was its appeal and why was it so wildly popular?  Movies tend to reflect our current state of mass consciousness and the title itself is an obvious message.  An avatar, according to Eastern spiritual teachings, is a teacher who comes to earth to restore dharma, to balance good versus evil. Similarly, Jake Sulley, the movie’s protagonist, listened to his heart and chose the pursuit of justice.

Justice can only be pursued by following our hearts and not our heads. Indigenous cultures are referring to this time period as, “the shift of the ages”, signifying the shift from the head to the heart, and the knowledge that all life forms are sustaining each other in one harmonious, unified energy field. Change is imminent during the next few years under the Cardinal Cross influences. It is an especially important time to focus on solutions, remain optimistic and continue to cultivate love and compassion for all sentient beings.
