“The cultural transformation from the love of power to the power of love is the drama of our time.” ~ Anodea Judith, Waking the Global Heart.
A Total Solar Eclipse is the first of this month’s supercharged Eclipse duo occurring in the zodiac sign of Scorpio on November 13, with the second—a Lunar Eclipse—occuring on November 28, in Gemini. A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon travels between the Sun and the Earth and therefore casts its shadow blocking the view of the Sun from Earth. When a New Moon is highlighted by an Eclipse it acts in a particularly potent manner propelling us to embrace change. Eclipses work on three levels: personal, collective and ultimately, the integration of both. Where there is inner uncertainty, an Eclipse will encourage you to seek clarity. Pay close attention to the revelations occurring in your life as what was previously hidden gives way to the light.
Disruptions in the Earth’s magnetic field occur during Eclipses. Therefore, regardless of where an Eclipse is visible, its influence can be felt by all of Earth’s inhabitants. Because this Eclipse occurs in Scorpio, those with Scorpio Suns or Scorpio planets in their horoscopes will feel its affects more intensely.
This Total Solar Eclipse-New Moon in Scorpio ushers in an annual and auspicious celestial event known by the Hindus as Diwali or The Festival of the Lights. It is a time of celebration of the victory of light over dark. The lighting of lamps honor the light of consciousness that exists within. Diwali also marks the beginning of a new financial year. Households and businesses begin new accounting ledgers dedicated to the Divine Mother and Lakshmi—the Goddess of Fortune—who is specifically honored during Diwali.
The Mayans refer to this current transitional time on Earth as the Shift of the Ages. This current Eclipse duo occur just prior to the ending of their 26,000 year long-count calendar and the 5,125 year cycle—Solar Cosmic Age of Earth Changes—the breaking up of old patterns. As the Mayan calendar begins its next 26,000 and 5,125 year cycle on the Winter Solstice, December 21, we will move into a period known by the Maya people as The Sun of Flowering—The Evolution of the Human Species.
Because this current Eclipse occurs in the sign of Scorpio it will emphasize the deep and often intense transformation that always occurs prior to the ending of an old cycle and the beginning of a new. Scorpio is the zodiac sign that symbolizes death and rebirth. This Total Eclipse in Scorpio will highlight personal power dynamics, security, possessions, other people’s money, passion, sexuality and deep internal transformations. As a water sign, Scorpio represents our emotional realm, and most specifically our subconscious – the underworld.
If you are finding yourself immersed in an underworld of internal struggles, or just needing to transform an important area of your life, this Solar Eclipse is the time to ask for assistance in making the changes you desire.
The energies of an Eclipse can be felt a couple of days before and after an Eclipse. The ancient sages believed that Eclipses were a time for meditation and learning; a special time to honor the spiritual aspects of your life. Try to keep your schedule light, remain internally focused, eat only pure foods, and do not consume alcohol. The veil between earth and the heavens is thinner during an Eclipse, allowing
you to more easily connect to the eternal universal wisdom that is your divine essence.

4 degrees Sagittarius – 18 degrees Scorpio
This is sure to be a powerful Mercury Retrograde period as it is beginning the day after the presidential election, and emphasizes next Tuesday’s potent Scorpio Solar Eclipse and the busy Thanksgiving travel weekend.
Mercury will be turning retrograde for the third and final time this year at 3:03 PST on November 7, in the auspicious and freedom loving sign of the archer—Sagittarius. Because it begins its backward motion in the sign (Sagittarius) that rules futuristic thinking, wisdom, and truth consciousness, it will encourage you to seek a higher visionary perspective. If you have found yourself stuck in defeating negative thought patterns and outmoded belief systems, now will be the time to seek a different viewpoint. As Mercury continues its retrograde movement into Scorpio it will promote deep internal metamorphosis. Scorpio’s domain is one of secrets, deep transformation, sexuality and power. Therefore, you can expect to awaken to many profound realizations during this Mercury retrograde period.
Mercury Retrograde periods encourage you to clean up any lingering loose ends that are in need of your attention. They also signify various technical and electronic glitches with cell phones, computers, and electric devices. Remain flexible, and prepare for delays and mix-ups of all kinds. Additionally, this is not a good time to enter into new partnerships and the signing of contractual agreements. It is a time period, however, when we often hear from or feel compelled to reach out to old friends or lovers whom we haven’t spoken to in some time.
Mercury rules communication and thought patterns. While retrograding in the fiery sign of Sagittarius and the Watery sign of Scorpio, you can be sure to experience a mixture of deep passion and intense emotion. Passion can be utilized in positive or negative ways. Use your passion during this Mercury period to embrace the truth and change the way you think and look at things so you can envision and create a happier future for yourself and those around you.
Would you like more freedom, travel or joy in your life? Do your belief systems and spiritual practice need uplifting? Are you longing for a deep transformational metamorphosis? Saturn in Scorpio
(Oct. 5, 2012 – Dec. 23, 2014 & June 14 – Sept. 17, 2015)
Astrologically, Saturn is often referred to as “The Lord of Karma” or “The Great Malefic” and sometimes “The Task Master,” all of which can provoke feelings of pessimism and negativity. Rarely are Saturn’s countless hidden gifts emphasized upon first contemplating this great planet’s Astrological significations.
Saturn is the planet that represents structure, social-political systems and authority, as well as the awareness of time and karma. He is the harbinger of the blatant recognition of a long standing way of life that is no longer serving us. With Saturn’s ingress into Scorpio we will find ourselves investing time to restructure the area of our lives reflected by the zodiacal sign of Scorpio. Astrologically, Scorpio represents issues involving power—or lack thereof— death and rebirth; transmutation and regeneration; deep-seated unconscious patterns, compulsions and obsessions; secrets and mysticism; and security and resources. Saturn will bring awareness and a need for dynamic change—individually as well as collectively—to any of these Scorpionic qualities in need of transformation.
Saturn in Scorpio will shine its light into the darkness of corrupt financial sectors and expose their abusive power driven agendas. On a personal level, you will be encouraged to delve into the caverns of your own psyche to access your personal authenticity and power. You will also find inspiration to transform outmoded patterns that sabotage your truest desires. Additionally, the conservation of resources—again, both individually and collectively—will be highlighted during this period. This is especially true for Scorpios because Saturn will transit directly over your Sun. If you are between the ages of 28-30 or 58-60 you are experiencing or about to experience your Saturn return, a major maturation and turning point in life.
Mindful awareness is required at the onset of a significant Saturn transit and we are encouraged to use integrity in all our dealings throughout its duration. The Saturnian journey often leads us into solemn periods of reflection where we may find ourselves feeling dejected, disillusioned and thwarted to move into the future we desire. Simultaneously, Saturn can promote new career heights, responsibilities and leadership recognition. If we consciously embrace Saturn’s wise teachings we can emerge with unexpected treasures and a more dynamic and productive life.
Saturnian transits and aspects bring us to a crossroads and provide opportunities to hasten our evolution. They usher in a profound time period, which if embraced, can ultimately bring great wisdom, a deeper meaning to life and awareness of self, maturation, humility and freedom by releasing that which no longer serves us.

The Saturn Return in Scorpio
The Planetary Time Indicator of Change
(Oct. 06, 2012-Sept. 17, 2015)
The planet Saturn begins its journey through your Astrological horoscope at the moment of your birth. Its complete cycle through the zodiac and the houses of your Astrological chart takes roughly 29 years. The Saturn Return occurs when Saturn passes through the sign it was in at the time of your birth. The Saturn Return is in effect for approximately two-and-a-half years and will occur twice in your life, typically around age 28-30 and again at 58-60. If you were born during 1983 – 1986 or 1953 – 1956 you were born with Saturn in Scorpio and are currently experiencing your first or second Saturn Return.
When Saturn returns to its natal position in your chart you will undergo one of the most intense maturation periods of your life. In general, Saturn Returns are precursors to strong and sometimes painful yearnings for change.During this period of time you will be divinely guided to relinquish anything in your life that does not support your future life goals and purpose. You may find yourself feeling compelled to prioritize your objectives and activities so you can make the best use of your abilities for the next 29.5 years.
This can be a very stressful and trying time because the security of the past is familiar and safe, whereas the future is still unformed and therefore uncertain. Among many things, Saturn represents karma, responsibility and accountability. This will be a critical time requiring you to act with extreme integrity.
The Saturn Return brings about endings and new beginnings. The universe will unveil unhealthy and incongruent living and working conditions that can no longer be tolerated. This recognition can bring about enormous change, which may at times feel completely out of your control.
If you resist your personal nature and desires during your Saturn Return, the next 29.5 years could bring much suffering. If you willingly embrace Saturn’s courageous force, the transformation you make during this period can bring long term stability and future security.

07 degrees and 22 minutes of Aries
This Year’s Harvest Full Moon occurs in Aries on September 28th at 10:18 pm PDT/1:06 am EDT.
New and Full Moons, Equinoxes and Solstices – as well as other significant celestial events – provide an opportunity to consciously embrace powerful universal energies. Astrologically, 2012 has thus far proven a year of potent planetary aspects. These events are reflected in what indigenous cultures are calling the “Shift of the Ages“. This “shift” is a transition of human consciousness; a transition from the individual “I” to a collective awareness that we are each energetically connected to the universal whole.
The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that occurs closest to the Fall Equinox. In the sign of Aries it is opposite the Sun in Libra and therefore highlights the Libra-Aries axis of the cardinal cross. You may remember that the cardinal archetype portends great change and the current Harvest Moon is emphasizing what the native elders are implying is essential during this great transition – partnership! We are being asked to embrace and support one another and to restore balance within, so we can sustain our relationships, especially the relationship with our planet.
This Harvest Full Moon is combined with revolutionary planet Uranus and the opposing Sun in Libra. Libra is the sign most concerned with harmony, love, and balance within partnership; and Uranus and Aries is most identified with aspects concerning radical change, freedom, independence, and self. How do we integrate these two seemingly opposites and find balance?
Integration of the Aries-Libra archetypes requires that we learn when it is appropriate to give and when it is not. Some of us were taught to believe that giving would secure love – Libra. When we give more than we receive, we sabotage the love we are seeking due to a false belief that receiving is somehow selfish – Aries. The balancing of the Aries and Libra archetypes is a conscious and harmonious dance with self and other.
We are each being called to cultivate supportive sustainable partnership in new and creative ways. The Harvest Moon reminds us to honor our most primal basic relationship – our relationship with Gaia. The harvesting of our bounty cannot occur unless we are in right relationship with the Mother that sustains us.
Go outdoors under the light of this powerful Harvest Moon and celebrate! Honor your bounty and give thanks during this season of gratitude.

08 degrees and 33 minutes of Pisces
A Full Moon is deemed blue not because of color, but due to the rarity of occurrence—hence, the popular statement, “once in a blue moon.” They occur approximately every 2-1/2 years with the last Blue Moon occurring on December 31, 2007. Based on the 29.5-day orbit of the Moon, Blue Moons occur only when there are two Full Moons in the same month. Yes, two full Moons are occurring this month—August 1 and 31 – with the second of the two marking the current Blue Moon.
Astrologically, the light of a Full Moon illuminates the area of our life symbolized by the zodiac sign in which it falls. Pisces is the mystical sign representing union–the unending quest of humankind to merge with divine. This Piscean search for union can permeate our waking and dreaming reality. When the Moon falls in the sign of Pisces, your waking world can become dreamy and surreal. The veils between the earthly and spirit realms become very thin under Pisces influence and are an excellent time to seek and merge with the sacredness of your higher self—the divine that exists within.
Full Moons always occur when the Moon is in opposition to the Sun. The Sun will be in Virgo during this Full Moon emphasizing the Piscean-Virgo theme of healing. Both these signs are sensitive to environment toxins and promote purification and integration of body-mind-spirit. Pisces and Virgo are mutable signs indicating they are flexible with change. Take advantage of this restorative Full Moon and create new routines that allow for daily meditation, and healthier ways of living.
Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac and can represent culmination in one or more areas of your life. During this transitional time on our planet, each of us is experiencing changes that require relinquishing comforts associated with old ways of being. Therefore, even the most difficult culminations serve your highest good while simultaneously preventing unnecessary crises and suffering that result when change is resisted. Embrace and honor the wisdom of fluidity that this Full Moon is granting and dream new and exciting visions into your future.
Pisces Full Moon Key Words: Dreamtime, Intuition, Suffering, Healing or Healing Crises, Flexibility, Culmination, Union with Divine.
