The first eclipse of this year will be visible in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, and will last just under 27 minutes in the sign of Scorpio.
This eclipse is destined to bring about deep emotional transformation as it shines its ever revealing light into the deep recesses of your unconscious. This will be true for each of us, but especially for those who have Taurus or Scorpio planets in their horoscope because these are the two zodiac signs in which the eclipses are highlighting. A lunar eclipse will shine a probing light into your emotional psyche and will maintain its influence in your life for as long as it takes for you to resolve the emotional dynamics that it exposed.
Scorpio is feminine in nature and symbolizes the element of water. Its spiritual essence is symbolized by the divine shakti—energy and power—which is recognized as the many faces of the divine feminine. In the Hindu tradition the divine shakti is known as the divine mother, the universal creator, destroyer of evil and sustainer of all life. Her many faces are acknowledged as Kali, Durga, and the only female companion of Lord Shiva—Parvati. The divine union of Shiva and Parvati is symbolic of the powerful merger of equality between the sacred feminine and masculine.
Just as Eclipses create a temporary shadow, you too, may find yourself uncovering previously Scorpionic buried emotions that need to be acknowledged and honored. This month’s Cardinal Full Moon occurs in the sign that represents harmonizing partnerships and the equalizing “scales of balance”—Libra. A Full Moon always occurs when it opposes the path of the Sun on the zodiac ecliptic and this month’s Full Moon is most significant because it will also oppose four other planets—all in the cardinal sign of Aries. Aries is on the beginning of the Astrological zodiac which signifies the changing of the seasons from winter to spring and an initiatory time of change and new beginnings. These planetary oppositions are an opportune time to focus on finding the commonality that brings about union—Libra—versus the discord that creates separateness—Aries.
Therefore, you can use the light of this powerful Full Moon to focus upon and determine where you can be more balanced. If, for example, you feel you are out of balance with either your intimate or professional partnerships and possibly giving more than you are receiving, then you will want to spend time contemplating how you can resolve the imbalance and then take action.
Once you can personally maintain equilibrium in your life, you will find the relationship imbalance resolved. The Libra archetype will often find that it gives far more than it receives so it may be helpful to observe areas of your life where this dynamic is exemplified. Inspiration, hope, and support flourish for those seeking spiritual, emotional, or mental liberation of any kind.
This New Moon is sure to inspire change on a deep level because it occurs in the mystical sign of Pisces and the tenth house of goal setting in the lunation horoscope. Accompanied by five other heavenly bodies all traversing the sign of Pisces – Neptune, Mercury Retrograde, Chiron, Venus, the Sun and Mars – this is guaranteed to be a potent pack! Therefore, expect revelations as hidden areas of your psyche become active during these next few days and weeks.

In the Mystical Sign of Pisces

On February 24, at 4:05 a.m. PT, Mercury – the cosmic trickster entered into his first retrograde cycle of 2013. Known as the Messenger of the Gods – Mercury’s role is to speedily deliver clear and precise information. While Mercury is in retrograde motion many of our daily activities seem to go haywire. During this Mercury cycle he is traveling through the watery realms of mystical Pisces whereby you may find yourself feeling especially disoriented and unable to focus clearly. This perplexing energy will intensify as Mercury continues its retrograde motion and conjoins Mars, the Sun, Chiron, and Neptune—all of which are also in Pisces.
Mercury Retrograde periods encourage you to clean up any lingering loose ends that are in need of your attention. They also signify various technical and electronic glitches with cell phones, computers, and electric devices. It is helpful to remain flexible, and prepare for delays and mix-ups of all kinds. Additionally, this is not a good time to enter into new partnerships and the signing of contractual agreements. It is a time period, however, when we often hear from or feel compelled to reach out to old friends or lovers whom we haven’t spoken to in some time.

12.12.12 will mark the zenith point of the final New Moon aspect of 2012 and is especially significant for a few reasons: it occurs just prior to the ending of the Mayan Calendar and marks the last significant numeric calendar sequence for centuries to come.
Sagittarius is the auspicious sign associated with the center of our galaxy—the location of the black hole. This location is known by the Mayans as the “road to awe.” They revered it as the “cosmic womb of the great mother” and it is the celestial point in space that our Solar system is currently passing through. The Mayans remarkable calendar and teachings remind us that this sacred passage will result in an evolutionary rebirth for humankind.
From an Astrological perspective Sagittarius and the center of our galaxy represent wisdom or truth consciousness. As a fiery and freedom oriented sign, Sagittarius also represents travel, learning, inspiration, optimism, joy, nature and divinity. If you are seeking direction in your life this potent New Moon is a powerful time to create goals for the next phase of your evolution. Accessing your personal truth is often a difficult task; therefore it may be useful to call upon the divine for guidance to help you. Early Wednesday morning will herald the final Eclipse of 2012. The Moon will be near the zenith for observers in Alaska, Hawaii, Western Canada/U.S. and Australia. This Appulse Lunar Eclipse is the second of this month’s supercharged Eclipse duos occurring in the zodiac sign of Gemini on November 28. The first—a Total Solar Eclipse—occurred on November 13, in the powerful and transformational sign of Scorpio. An Appluse Eclipse is also known as a Prenumbral Eclipse because the Moon moves through the Earth’s penumbra creating a light grey shadowing effect.
Endings and powerful transformations are especially emphasized under this Eclipse duo as we await the long anticipated ending of our solar system’s 26,000 year cycle and alignment with the center of our Milky Way Galaxy on 12.21.12. This duo is occurring just prior to the ending of this historic period. It also highlights the ending of a 5,125 year cycle that the Mayan people refer to as the Solar Cosmic Age of Earth Changes—the breaking up of old patterns. As our solar system begins its next 26,000 year cycle on the December 21 Winter Solstice, we will move into a period known by the Mayan as The Sun of Flowering—The Evolution of the Human Species.
While on the precipice of this momentous Shift of the Ages these Eclipses will act in a particularly potent manner propelling us to embrace change. Eclipses work on three levels: personal, collective and ultimately, the integration of both. Where there is inner uncertainty, an Eclipse will encourage you to seek clarity. Pay close attention to the revelations occurring in your life as what was previously hidden gives way to the light.
This is a time to initiate endings and explore new prospects.
