Better a single day of life seeing the reality of
arising and passing away than a hundred years
of existence remaining blind to it. ~ The Buddha
The second eclipse of 2022 will be visible in much of North America, parts of South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Asia. From beginning to end it will last approximately five hours.
Blood Moons are typically considered rare events as they only occur during a Total Full Moon Lunar Eclipse. The last one occurred in May 2021, the next will be in November of 2022 (two this year!), and we won’t see another until September of 2024. The red hues of a Blood Moon can take on many shades due to the Earth blocking the light of the Sun. Lunar–Solar cycles such as this one have the potential to heighten and awaken the mystical in our life.
This Blood Moon Eclipse is considered a potent and spiritually auspicious eclipse as people all over the world celebrate Buddha’s birth and enlightenment. It was during the Moon’s Full phase in Scorpio that Buddha sat under the Bodhi tree over 2,500 years ago and obtained Nirvana.1 The sign of the Scorpion encourages each of us to embrace the mysteries of death and renewal and the overall impermanence of human life.
Every single moment we are undergoing birth and death.
This is the way things are. ~ The Buddha
The Moon moves into Scorpio on Saturday (May 15) at 3:34 a.m. (PDT) and will enter its exact eclipse totality on Sunday at 9:14 p.m. Besides the earthly cycles of life and death, this Scorpio eclipse can reveal empowerment, betrayal, and abandonment dynamics, possessions, other people’s money, sexuality, secrets, taboos, passion — and most importantly — the desire for deep internal transformative renewal of one’s current state of reality.
As a water sign, Scorpio represents our emotional realm, and most specifically, our deep subconscious — often referred to as the “underworld” by native shamans. This Full Moon Eclipse has the potential to unexpectedly shine a probing light into your emotional psyche encouraging long-overdue transformation. Therefore, if you desire change, you will want to embrace this powerful eclipse and open to the many opportunities to transmute your life.
Change is the natural byproduct of impermanence and can be invigorating and restorative. Change can be both positive and negative: even when restorative, it can involve loss. Grief arises when we’ve loved and placed great value in something or someone. Therefore, impermanence and loss provide an opportunity to recognize and appreciate how deeply we were able to love.
Lastly, a Mars–Neptune conjunction in the sign of Pisces is supporting our spiritual aspirations (Pisces) during this eclipse and the ancient sages believed that the days just before and after eclipses were a time for meditation and learning. Therefore, you’ll want to embrace these potent energies to deepen and/or begin a new spiritual quest and practice.
Scorpio Full Moon Eclipse Key Words: transformation and transmutation, renewal, fate, secrets, illumination, power dynamics, sexuality, possessions, compulsion, defensive, resistance to change, impermanence (death & rebirth)
Note:
1. In the practice of Buddhism, Nivana is the transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the individual is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth.

We are LOVE, we are from LOVE, and to LOVE we shall return.
~ Nicolya Christi
April 30 marks the first eclipse of 2022, a partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus. Eclipses generally occur in pairs within two weeks of one another and each pair of eclipses typically take place twice a year. The second eclipse of this pair occurs on May 15 — a Total Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Scorpio. The second pair of eclipses will occur in late October and early November. All four of this year’s eclipses will occur on the Taurus—Scorpio destiny points (the nodal-axis of the Moon).
The Astrological destiny points revolve around our horoscopes, supporting our soul’s intentions and evolutionary growth. Since all four eclipses during 2022 will activate the signs associated with our inner–self — Taurus and Scorpio — we can each expect to experience a series of powerful internal shifts. The planet, Uranus, is also closely aligned with this year’s eclipses, especially this and the final eclipse in November.
Uranus is liberating and futuristic. It infuses us with the brilliant light of liberating awareness that will expand our personal future and the future of our planet. Coined by Astrologers as, The Great Awakener, Uranus is the universal harbinger of unprecedented change. It is the planet associated with the brain and, specifically, lightning–speed realizations, stimulating us like a probe to WAKE UP and liberate ourselves from our outmoded past.
Since Taurus and Scorpio are considered fixed signs, we may feel scared, challenged, and/or insecure at the thought of any needed adjustments. Change rarely feels comfortable and sometimes it just seems easier to remain in our known, predictable, and outmoded structures. However, it is much easier for us to embrace change rather than having the cosmic forces help us along with a swift kick, if you will.
Pay close attention to the revelations occurring in your life during this powerful eclipse as they are intended to guide and move you into your future. Eclipses can blatantly reveal old patterns that are no longer in alignment with your deepest values (Taurus). If there is inner uncertainty, this eclipse will encourage you to seek clarity so you can empower yourself to transform it.
Taurus is the earth sign most closely attuned to Mother Earth — the giver and sustainer of all life. Therefore, this is a great eclipse to honor and begin a practice of gratitude for the cosmic and earthly abundance that gives and supports our lives in every moment. Following is a beautiful and simple gratitude quote from Joe Dispenza that deeply inspires me, “Love life and life will love you back.”
The planet of love, Venus, rules this Taurus Eclipse. When associated with Taurus, Venus asks us to cultivate a loving relationship with our inner–self. During this eclipse, Venus is traveling through the sign of Pisces, accompanied by both of Pisces’s ruling planets — Jupiter and Neptune. Among other things, Jupiter signifies expansion, philosophy, and beliefs and Neptune is associated with healing and the intended culmination of anything that is preventing us from aligning with our true nature — love.
Expect this Eclipse, and for that matter the entire year, to bring about inner revelations about how you love yourself and love others. Most importantly, if you currently believe that your security comes from external resources then now is an excellent time to contemplate and initiate new intentions for the following:
-
- To appreciate beauty and the finer things in life without a desired need to possess or own.
- To display self-worth that radiates inner security regardless of my financial status.
- To honor and nurture my individual gifts and values.
- To love myself unconditionally.

My point is, life is about balance. The good and the bad.
The highs and the lows. The pina and the colada. ― Ellen DeGeneres
This month’s Full Moon occurs in the Venus-ruled sign that represents harmonious partnerships and the equalizing scales of balance — Libra. Astrologically, the Moon is considered a luminary that has the potential to light up our unconscious and bring to our attention those matters that are associated with the sign that it is traversing.
A Full Moon always occurs when it opposes the path of the Sun on the zodiac ecliptic. This month, the Libra Full Moon is in opposition to the other luminary — the Sun — in Aries, the sign associated with the individual self. The opposing energies of a Full Moon lunation highlight the need for integration and balance between the zodiac signs involved — in this case, Libra (others) and Aires (self). Additionally, the Moon and Sun in this lunation are in a close square aspect to Pluto — the planet that provides the potential for deep empowering transformation.
What does all this mean? Well, Pluto allows situations and emotions that have long been suppressed to rise from the depths of our individual and collective unconscious. Since Pluto is intensely influencing this Full Moon, we can intend to resolve any imbalances that exist in our relationships, especially where power is involved. When we courageously face any uncomfortable dynamics, we can integrate their learning and find a newfound sense of peace and harmony in life — balance!
For example, because the Libra archetype is associated with balance within relationships, we may become acutely aware of where we consistently give far more than we receive. During this Full Moon it may be helpful to observe areas of your life where this dynamic is exemplified. When Libra is involved, sometimes the greatest gift we can give another person is to know when not to give, thereby allowing that individual to independently determine their own needs — Aries.
To summarize, this Full Moon supports the unveiling and understanding of imbalances existing in our life and why we are unable to receive that which we desire. With Pluto’s power and assistance, we can resolve to heal that which arises so we can fulfil the state of harmony and balance that we desire.
Lastly, Libra is the sign associated with the kidneys and blood-sugar balances. Therefore, this is a great Full Moon to commit to consuming less sugar, foods high in carbohydrates, and alcohol. Look for healthy alternatives that support your overall wellbeing.

To catch the rainbows of your dreams, love yourself,
love what you do, and how you do. ― Amit Ray
Because this month’s New Moon coincides with the Astrological New Year (the March 20th Equinox), there are two “initiatory cycles” occurring simultaneously and both feature Aries, the sign that signifies new evolutionary cycles.
Aries is also known for its independent, impulsive, strategizing warrior nature, thriving when initiating new cycles of adventure and self-discovery. Beware, however, as Aries can become easily enraged when it’s thrown off course and its freedom and/or unfulfilled desires are thwarted.
Wholeness and Healing are the vital themes of this lunation due to its close alignment with Chiron (currently in Aries), the half-horse — half-man Centaur. Chiron’s dualistic form is symbolic of our dual nature, specifically related to our higher and lower selves.
In Chiron’s case, he endured deep abandonment and alienation wounds at birth. As he matured, he began the arduous quest of unifying and bridging his higher and lower selves, whereby he ultimately obtained acceptance, wholeness, and healing. In fact, Chiron became a healer himself and appropriately garnered the title “the wounded healer.”
Spiritually, rainbows are associated with divine guidance because they occur with the presence of light. When referring to Chiron astrologically, the process of integrating our external world of materialism to our internal world of spirituality is known as the rainbow bridge (1) and interestingly, when Chiron is highlighted in our horoscopes, rainbows become prominent in our lives.
During this lunation, the Sun, Moon, Chiron, and Mercury are all in the sign of Aries. Therefore, pay special attention to those areas of your life where you find yourself inspired to initiate and develop a stronger sense of self. The Aries themes of freedom and unrestrained action can help you to uncover your true nature so you can follow the evolutionary intentions of your soul. With the planet Mercury involved you will want to imbue your psyche with positive self-talk and loving ways of thinking about YOU!
It requires intense focus to leave behind that which no longer serves us so we can embark on a new way of being. Becoming whole and integrated in our dual natures can require the strength of the Centaur. Therefore, take advantage of this lunation and its attributes of courage, instinct, and freedom and initiate your very own new cycles of discovery.
Aries New Moon Key Words: initiation, leadership, warrior, self-discovery, independence, freedom, exploration and adventure, instinctual desires, brand new cycle, wholeness & healing, positive self-talk.
Note:
- The planet Chiron is also referred to as the Rainbow Bridge, because astronomically it resides in-between the orbits of Saturn (the physical realm) and the great awakener, Uranus (the higher realms).

I’ve been sitting here for quite some time trying to think about
how to approach the subject of this war and how to talk about it.
There’s no way to make good news out of war — there just isn’t.
It is the age of the unthinkable. — Carolyn Myss
With each Full Moon we receive new opportunities for manifestation, reflection, and realization. Every Full Moon brings a special gift of energetic wisdom based on the zodiac sign that it occurs. Alignment with one’s body, mind, and spirit is Virgo’s most important offering.
The above quote by Carolyn Myss depicts our struggle with the ongoing global incoherence of our day-to-day realities. How do we discuss the unthinkable, that which only creates abhorrence and confusion within our bodies, minds, and spirits? As so many spiritual teachers remind us, and what resonates most to me, is that it’s up to each of us to overcome our inner and external fears and conflicts before our outer world can become peaceful. In other words, and in Virgo speak, we must heal our individual body, mind, and spirit so we can realize our true nature — love.
Peace doesn’t require two people; it requires only one. It has to be you.
The problem begins and ends there. — Byron Katie
Let’s explore other Virgoan archetypes for additional insight, such as, purity and devotion — two key significations that describe the seeker who strives for perfection. Additionally, Virgo is ruled by Mercury and is, as a result, related to the mind and analytical critical thinking (to get to the pure essence of the issue).
Many of today’s scientists and teachers are informing us that the function of our mind is to create coherence between our thoughts and the reality that we wish to experience, whether it be perfect health or some other longing. This requires conscious, creative, and focused thinking. Hence, controlling our mentality seems worth the effort since physics has long-ago proven that concentrated energy gives life to matter.
Once our mentality is aligned with love, peace, and gratitude we connect to our true essence and our bodies naturally respond. Sometimes, however, higher vibrations can result in a healing crisis (whether the focus is on a spiritual practice, the food we feed our bodies, or our thought processes) as the body and our soul attempts to liberate us from years and sometimes even lifetimes of negative thinking and behaviors.
Neglecting the purification and healing of the above three Virgo elements in our life can also precipitate an inner and/or external crises. If a crisis is interpreted as something happening to us, it can lead to confusion and feelings of victimization, another key Virgo theme. With all Virgo’s striving for purity and perfectionism it is easy to forget, that at our core we are divine beings, and therefore, already pure and perfect.
This Full Moon makes a benefic aspect to the planet Pluto. As you may recall, Pluto is associated with power dynamics and deep-transformative change. Simultaneously, this lunation is making a challenging aspect with the planet Neptune, which speaks to possible emotional dynamics around family, our vocation, and work-life-balance. Do you need to empower yourself and pursue a healthier career? Are you in need of transforming and deepening your devotional practice? Is there a healing opportunity that has recently come to your attention?
Take time during this Full Moon (March 16 –18) to feel into where you would like to transform your life. Reevaluate the areas needing your attention. Pay special attention to your nutritional requirements, thought processes, and spiritual needs. Try not to belabor details, overanalyze, or become too critical — be gentle, kind, and loving to yourself and others.
Virgo Key Words: Analyze, Discriminate, Perfect, Vocation, Guilt, Atonement, Purification, Alignment of body–mind–spirit, Innocence, Giving and Assisting, Humility, Mental Constructs, Spirituality. Body: intestines, nervous system, hands and feet
